MBA Exams

And now how to deal with the mind.

1. One should maintain a fair degree of enthusiasm in order to keep the mind free from being sick. How well it has been said that success is moving from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.

2. It is significantly true that we are the way we are made. Each individual, we are told by science, is genetically programmed. Yeh, there is an element  of independent will present in all of us. It is this element which needs to be exploited with conscious effort to achieve a goal.

3. Einstein believed that the difference in the achiever and the non-achiever does not lie so much in their intelligence as in their “attention – span“. As and when we declare something as beyond us, that is the time to persist.

1.      Relax – is the mantra. Learn to relax . When a feeling of stress begins to creep, say good-bye to everything and go into total relaxation. You will return to your work with incredible freshness.

2.      In the hustle – bustle of modern times, humors has lost its salience. This needs to be revived. While a humor does include laughter, it also is a way of life. It is our attitude to life itself. A hearty laugh brings a mental and physical state comparable with meditation.

3.      Let us go back to the time honored advice of our reverend stages. The Gita rightly suggests Karmaye Vadikaraste …… Do your job and do not worry about the result. The emphasis is on both “do your job”- do it earnestly – and “do not worry about the result”. Let us do whatever we are required to do with zeal and diligence and then forget. Almost all stresses arise out of the second part- “Worrying about the result”.
